LSG vs MI: Watch – Mayank Yadav’s Career is in Danger as Pacer Has to Leave the Field in Comeback Match Due to Injury

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) suffered an injury scare in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Mumbai Indians (MI). Fast bowler Mayank Yadav left the field injured at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Mayank Yadav, who returned to the playing eleven after a long injury layoff, suffered another injury and dealt a major blow to the Lucknow Super Giants. The fast bowler left the field during the 19th over of the first innings at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

It was a surprise as the fast bowler got a ball before leaving the field and delivered a great delivery to dismiss Mumbai Indians batsman Mohammad Nabi. The fast threw a blitz that the batsman had no idea about and lost his wicket at the crucial point of the game.

Mayank Yadav was a 143.1 kmph bowler on a tough track. Mohammad Nabi shot the ball over the line but got the inside edge. The ball hit his thigh and bounced onto the stumps. The all-rounder looked clueless given the speed of the ball and managed just one run in two balls.

However, after taking the wicket, Mayank Yadav felt unwell and left the field. The injury didn’t look good as he left the over after taking the wicket. The team management would hope that the pacer returns to the field soon and plays the next game for the team.

Mayank Yadav bowled 3.1 overs in the game and returned with figures of 1/31. Recently, he suffered a minor strain in the game against Gujarat Titans and subsequently missed all the previous games. However, his return was not successful as he injured himself again. The pacer also looked down on his pace.

Lucknow Super Giants had a decent performance with the ball. Mohsin Khan picked two wickets while Marcus Stoinis, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mayank Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi picked one wicket each. Due to the collective effort, they restricted Mumbai Indians’ numbers to a total of 144/7.

It’s not an easy target to chase – Nehal Wadhera over Mumbai Indians by 144 runs

Nehal Wadhera was the bright spot for Mumbai Indians in the game against Lucknow Super Giants. The batsman bailed the team out as they were reeling at 27/4. He scored 46 runs and helped the team put up a fighting total on the board.

Nehal Wadhera believes it is a good result as he has a firm grip on the ball. He stated that he didn’t think about his milestones and claimed that they had to be at the top. In an interview with broadcasters he explained:

“I think it’s a good total, I would have gotten more if I had batted longer. (Good recovery) to score 144 points from the situation we were in. I think the ball is a bit grippy, I didn’t expect so much turn. That’s it.” It’s not an easy goal to pursue, they have to bat smart.

“I don’t think about milestones, I just want our team to win. I’m happy that I was able to contribute with 46 runs. We haven’t won the last few games, we know we have to, have to, win all our remaining games.” “Let’s do our best and the boys are optimistic, let’s see what happens. We have to stop the singles, doubles and boundary games.” he concluded.
