LSG vs KKR: Is Mayank Yadav Set for a Sensational Return in the IPL 2024 Playoffs? Justin Langer Releases Update

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav has been the unluckiest player in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The fast bowler turned heads early in the season and nothing good has happened in the tournament since then.

Mayank Yadav created a storm of excitement with his fiery bowling in the IPL 2024. The fast bowler wreaked havoc in the game against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, picking up two player-of-the-match wins in the first two games he played.

However, in his third game against Gujarat Titans, he got injured and left the field. The fast bowler had problems with side strain and missed many games thereafter. He then recently returned to the playing eleven against Mumbai Indians after a long injury break and suffered another injury.

Mayank Yadav left the field in the 19th over of the match as he felt discomfort in the team again. There have been various reports claiming that the fast bowler’s injury is serious and he is likely to miss the remaining part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Lucknow Super Giants head coach Justin Langer admitted that it will be difficult for Mayank Yadav to play in the IPL but he hopes the pacer plays in the playoffs. He revealed that the fast bowler had suffered a small tear and termed his injury as unfortunate. He explained:

No, we’re praying that he can hopefully play in the playoffs, but I’m also a realist. It will probably be difficult for him to get back up towards the end of the tournament. He was scanned. It has a small tear in a similar place to last time. So it’s very unfortunate.”

Justin Langer highlighted the fact that fast bowlers are injury prone and admitted that when he spoke to the Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah also told him the same thing. He added:

“We saw the impact he had when he came back into the game. But we can all sleep. There will always be a lot of discussion about fast bowlers and I know he has spoken to them.” [Jasprit] Bumrah after the game and he assured him that if he wants to become a fast bowler, he will face injuries, a part of his journey as a young fast bowler.

So it’s very sad for him and disappointing for LSG – Justin Langer about Mayank Yadav’s injury

Justin Langer further claimed that Mayank Yadav’s rehabilitation is on the right track and stated that the fast bowler has great potential. The head coach revealed that the fast bowler went into the game against Mumbai Indians pain-free and it was unfortunate that he sustained another injury. He added:

“In my experience, every young fast bowler will suffer different injuries, probably until they are 25 or 26 years old. And that is the most unfortunate thing. He has great potential. But his rehabilitation was excellent.”

“He went into the game [against MI]He had a few bowls before the game. He was completely pain free. Therefore, it is very sad for him and also disappointing for LSG that he may not play the rest of the tournament.[not[playtherestofthetournament”[not[playtherestofthetournament”he concluded.
