‘Little People, Big World’ Canceled Due to Stunning Cast Shakeup?

Back on February 22, Tori Roloff and Zach Roloff made an announcement regarding their future as Little People, Big World cast members.

And now?

As the latest season of this TLC series continues to air new episodes?

Fans can’t help but wonder about the future of the program itself.

“We’re done. This part of our lives, this chapter is closed,” Tori Roloff said on a recent episode of her and her husband’s podcast, confirming her departure from Little People, Big World.

Zach then gave the impression that their contracts had expired and neither the couple themselves nor the network’s executives were interested in renewing them.

“We made it pretty clear,” Zach added on the same podcast. “They technically didn’t ask us back.”

It’s been an open secret for almost two years that Zach and Tori don’t get along with the former’s father, Matt Roloff.

On the latest episode of Little People, Big World, Matt expressed his disappointment that his son and daughter-in-law didn’t attend a local charity event.

The rivalry began in May 2022 when Matt put 14 acres of his Oregon farm up for sale, which angered Zach because the father of three felt his own father hadn’t given him a fair chance to buy that property.

Zach went on to smear him as a coward and a manipulator after Matt pushed back against this summary of events.

The relationship hasn’t been nearly the same since.

“This last cycle was tough between the family and the farm deal, and we were done with it,” Zach noted in the aforementioned podcast, referring to issues with his father, as Tori pointed out hard lately.

Makes perfect sense to us.

But where does that leave one of the longest-running reality shows in television history?

Zach and Tori are gone now. Jacob Roloff left the company in 2016. Jeremy Roloff followed with his own departure in 2018.

Matt and Amy Roloff’s fourth child, Molly, never wanted to be part of the cast and lives in Washington, far from the spotlight.

Could TLC pick up Little People, Big World for another season?

Could it just focus on Amy and Matt’s relationship? Or Matt’s engagement to Caryn Chandler?

It is possible. The series remains inexpensive for TLC; Very little money goes into production.

We simply cannot imagine there being much interest in adults here. Most fans are (by far) most invested in Matt and Amy’s children, neither of whom are associated with the show anymore.

Little People, Big World debuted back in 2006 – it’s incredible that it continues to air.

The series follows the Roloff family through the years they live on their Oregon farm as they struggle with the complexities of dwarfism and everyday problems such as marriage, divorce and growing up.

Tori and Zach wrote in the episode description of their podcast at the end of February:

“Little People, Big World” was a big part of our lives – but it was time to go away.

The show has given us so many great opportunities, great memories and so much fun.

But it also challenged us to set better boundaries with filming and with our children, to cope with less-than-accurate portrayals of our lives, and to grapple with family difficulties.

It was a great run, but we needed an adult in the room. And we took this step.
