Lindsay Price Loves Being a “groupie” for Her Son Hudson’s Band

Lindsay Price And Curtis Stone may have dominated the acting and cooking worlds, but her eldest son is ready to take over the music industry.

Price, 47, was a proud mother and supported her 12-year-old son Hudson at the PS Arts 2024 Express Yourself event at Fox Studios in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 28. “I’m just the groupie roadie of this event,” the actress exclusively told Us weekly on the red carpet with Hudson. “My son is in a band and it’s called The Rookie 5.”

Price, who also shares son Emerson, 9, with Stone, 48, said Us that Hudson began playing guitar “as a way to express himself” during the COVID-19 pandemic. She added: “So, here we are with all our hearts because we know what music does for a child. His life has changed as a result. … We’re not a super family, like an iPad family, and what he accomplished through the arts and the opportunity to express themselves, every child in America deserves to have that opportunity.”

Hudson and his band took the stage at Sunday’s event, which helped raise money for arts education programs for children. Lindsay shared a clip via her Instagram Story from the group’s performance of Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle,” which featured Hudson rocking an impressive guitar solo.

Hudson’s musical talents are something that has been very supportive of Price over the years. “One of my favorite Mother’s Days, I should say, is him learning ‘Chasing Cars’ by Snow Patrol and coming into my room when I woke up in the morning, having breakfast in bed, and then acoustically playing and singing that song,” she said called back. “And it was like, ‘Okay, this is it. We’re going to put everything into this music thing for you.’”

Hudson shared that his mother is one of his biggest fans Us he thinks it’s “great.” When his mother asked how “embarrassing” she was “on a scale of one to ten,” he replied, “Actually, not that bad.”

Missing from the event was Stone, who Price said was busy filming his show Crime scene kitchen in Toronto. she said Us“It’s been a minute” since she and the professional chef had a proper date, although her last one came when she and her boys traveled to Canada to pay him a visit.

“It was the first time we said, ‘Stay up in the room.’ Here is our phone. Call us if you need anything.’ And so our date was literally a lobby, a bar and a drink,” she shared. “And that was kind of nice. I’m looking forward to him coming home tonight. We’re going to do something fun.”

While Stone missed Hudson and his band’s Sunday performance, he showed his support for the group on his Instagram Story. “Hudson and his band @wearetherookie5 are doing well with @ps_arts 👏,” he captioned a video of the group posing on the red carpet, reposting a clip of the band’s performance of The Strokes’ “You Only Live Once.”
