Ben Davies – Calf
Defender Ben Davies was called up for the North London derby, which was his first game in over two months. Perhaps this lack of sharpness is due to his recent injury problem, with the Welshman suffering from a calf problem which Postecoglou expects to keep him out of Spurs’ remaining games.
Timo Werner – thigh injury
Timo Werner was substituted in the first half against the Gunners last weekend and after a hamstring injury was confirmed, Postecoglou was without the German for the rest of the season. Whether Werner returns to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will likely depend on RB Leipzig negotiating a deal with Spurs to extend his stay in north London in the summer.
Oliver Skipp – knock
Oliver Skipp has not been used as a late substitute in Spurs’ draw with Everton since the beginning of February and has not been in the matchday squad since the trip to Craven Cottage, where Tottenham were soundly beaten.
His recent absence since then is due to what Postecoglou described as a “minor blow”: his manager ruled him out of the derby clash against Arsenal at the weekend. However, it looks like he could feature in some capacity against Chelsea during the week.
Destiny Udogie – Thighs
The club confirmed last weekend that Italy international Destiny Udogie had undergone surgery on his left thigh following a training injury.
Ahead of the north London derby, Postecoglou confirmed his season was over, saying (via Football.london): “A bit disappointing for him and for us as he was such an important player for us.” So yes, unfortunately that means an injury ended his season.”
Fraser Forster is expected to be sidelined for a long time after breaking his foot.
At the time of the injury it looked like it would be at least two months before he would return to the bench, but it looks like next season now seems most likely.
Ryan Sessegnon – Hamstring injury
Ryan Sessegnon’s injury problems continue as he now requires surgery for a hamstring injury sustained during a U21 game.
Regarding the full-back’s situation, Ange said back in March: “Obviously Sess had a hamstring injury and had to have surgery, so that was kind of the last game.”
Manor Solomon – Knee
Tottenham Hotspur provided an update on Manor Solomon’s injury in October, which read: “It was announced on Thursday (October 5) that our number 27 suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in training this week. The striker underwent surgery on the same day and has now started rehabilitation to get back to full fitness.”
And things still aren’t really any better, as the winger is still struggling with an issue that Ange provided an update on a few weeks ago:
“No real progress. He still doesn’t feel well. The medical team is currently considering other strategies.”
Latest Spurs suspension news
The Lilywhites have no suspensions ahead of their next game.
