Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions Lahore Qalandars entered another franchise cricket league by acquiring a team in the first edition of the Zim Afro T10 league. The franchise was named Durban Qalandars and will take part in the upcoming edition of the T10 league.
Following the success of the T10 leagues, Zimbabwe Cricket established a private team event. Five teams will compete the Zim Afro T10. Apart from the Durban Qalandars, the other teams are the Harare Hurricanes, Cape Town Samp Army, Bulawayo Braves and the Joburg Lions.

Zim Afro T10, a branch of the Abu Dhabi T10 league, is expected to be held in association with T Ten Global Sports. The first edition will take place from July 20th to 29th, with the grand finale scheduled for July 29th. The players’ draft will take place on July 2nd at a grand ceremony in Harare.

We want to expand our presence – Sameen Naeem Rana
Pakistani businessmen Atif Naeem Rana and Sameen Naeem Rana own this Lahore Qalandars Franchise that won two Pakistan Super League titles in 2022 and 2023. The Qalandars will look to repeat their success with the Durban Qalandars in the upcoming Zim Afro T10.
“After winning the PSL for two seasons in a row, we want to expand our presence and Zimbabwe is a great opportunity for us to make our mark.” said Sameen Naeem Rana, owner and CEO of Durban Qalandars.

They had a long-lasting impact in the PSL – Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk
T Ten Global Sports Founder and Chairman Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk expressed excitement about the Pakistan Super League champions signing the team for the tournament.
“It’s great that the Pakistan Super League champions are participating as Durban Qalandars in the Zim Afro T10.” said Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, Founder and Chairman of T Ten Global Sports.
“They have had a lasting impact in the PSL and we hope they will play a similar role in the Zim Afro T10 too. I expect tough competition and entertaining cricket from the Durban Qalandars from the first ball. “The fans are eagerly waiting for this cricket festival to begin.” Mulk added
