Kristi Noem‘s book has landed her in trouble again…this time due to a factual error in claiming that she met Kim Jong Un – even though the meeting never took place.
The South Dakota governor went on CBS’ “Face The Nation” Sunday morning to talk politics and her upcoming autobiography “No Going Back” … and hosting the show Margaret Brennan brought up a passage in which Noem wrote that she had met the North Korean dictator.
After writing in her book that she met Kim Jong Un, Kristi Noem was asked if it really happened.
Noem: “I have met with many world leaders… I will not talk about specific meetings with world leaders. I just won’t do that.”🤡

Check out the clip… Noem says the passage will be removed from the book – which doesn’t come out until Tuesday FWIW – after the passage was brought to her attention. Basically, she argued that she had no idea the story was in it.
When I pressed the issue, KN – who was once a leading candidate for former president Donald Trump‘s vice president – promotes a meeting with other foreign executives… but ultimately says she made a mistake and the publisher will correct it.
By the way…many people on Twitter are upset with Gov. Noem over the clip, saying this latest gaffe could knock her out of the running for the Veep title, especially after she revealed in the book that she also shot a dog .
ICYMI… Noem writes a story in the book where she took a dog that was attacking some chickens and snapping at them to a gravel pit and shot it – a revelation that had many people on social media calling her out.
The governor defended herself at the time, saying animals die on farms all the time, so that’s to be expected. As you can imagine, this did little to reassure animal lovers.
.@KristiNoem on the controversial story she told in her new book about the killing of her 14-month-old dog, Cricket, whom she calls “a dangerous animal”:
“The reason this story is in the book – because people need to understand who I am and some of these difficult decisions.” pic.twitter.com/LrrSIFdj2W

By the way…she also addressed the dog story on “FTN” – and said she included it in the book to show people that she’s willing to make tough decisions.
Either way…this book is giving Noem PR nightmares – and we’ll have to see if she’ll still be offered Trump’s coveted top spot.
