Kirsten Dunst And Tom Cruise haven’t worked together in three decades, but that doesn’t mean they don’t still have a good connection.
In fact, Dunst, 41, is one of the lucky celebrities that Cruise, 61, sends a $126 white chocolate coconut bundt cake from Doan’s Bakery every year.
“I still get that cake,” the actress revealed during an interview on Tuesday, April 9 Entertainment tonight.
She added that her husband of two years will also receive the tasty gift, explaining: “Jesse [Plemons] gets the cake, [too]So let’s double our cake.”
Cruise also sends the coconut cake to his other famous friends, including Tom Hanks, Jon Hamm And Rosie O’Donnell.
This isn’t the first time Dunst has raved about the dessert. In 2016, she spoke about it while on the Graham Norton Show.
“He gives me a cake every Christmas,” she explained. “At my house we call it the cruise cake. It’s the best coconut cake I’ve ever tasted in my life.”
Dunst and Cruise first worked together on the film in 1994 Interview with the vampirewhich was based on it Anne Riceis the 1976 novel of the same name and tells the story of what it might really be like to be a vampire who has lived for hundreds of years.
At the time of the project, Dunst was only 11 years old and she had previously stated that Cruise helped her take on the role of Claudia.
“I auditioned for this role many, many times. That was also a huge thing for me. That was my, you know, breakthrough role,” Dunst recalled in a 2021 interview with People. “And after that I had another screen test with Tom Cruise, and I remember being the tallest of all the young girls. He had to pick up each of us and carry us around just to see what we looked like, Tom, and who looked the most childlike.”
Dunst says she was nervous about not being small enough for the role until Cruise gave her a tip that changed everything.
“I remember Tom whispering to me, ‘Tighten up your legs’ so I would look as small as possible because I was the tallest girl and I knew he wanted to give me some sort of thumbs up. We were both from New Jersey, and I think he said, ‘Leave it to that girl from Jersey.'”
Not only was Dunst cast in the role, but she also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1995. Although she lost to Miranda Richardson for her role in “Fatherlan,” Dunst starred in many projects, including “The upcoming film Civil Warwhich hits theaters on Friday, April 12th.
