Peter Kim had to cancel all of her appearances at music festivals this summer due to health reasons.
The 31-year-old “Coconuts” singer took to social media on Wednesday, April 24, to announce the unfortunate news.
“Gosh, I’m devastated to write this, but I’m suffering from health issues and on medical advice I had to make the difficult decision not to perform at festivals this summer,” Petras wrote on her Instagram Story. “I love you so much and I will make it up to you soon you will be better than ever 💕💕💕”
Fans flooded Petras’ comments section on X, where she also shared the statement to show their support.
“Feel better,” one person wrote. “Your health and well-being are more important than some festivals.”
Another shared: “The most important thing is that you are authentic. How can you show up and perform for us when you’re not feeling well yourself? I wish you all the best, Kim! We’ll wait here no matter what, baby.”
Petras was scheduled to perform at Primavera Sound in Barcelona in May, Mighty Hoopla in London and Primavera Porto in Portugal in June, and Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle in July.
After Petras broke the news, festivals offered their condolences to the pop star.
“We are really sad to learn that Kim Petras will not be able to perform at this year’s edition of Primavera Sound Barcelona,” the festival wrote via X. “We wish her a speedy recovery and hope to welcome her to our festival soon ❤️. “”
Mighty Hoopla, which continues to have performances scheduled by artists like… Jessie Ware, Nelly Furtado And Rita praysShe shared, “We’re sending so much love to Kim and will update you on our lineup very soon ✨.”
While Petras didn’t elaborate on her health issue, she revealed earlier this year that she had started therapy after the huge success of Unholy, with which she collaborated Sam Smith which earned her a Grammy.
“After I had a big song, I needed therapy to learn how to turn everything off,” Petras said Cosmopolitan Britain in an interview published March 15. “I had a therapist as a teenager and stopped when things got hectic. But I missed having someone to hand everything over to. I recommend therapy to everyone; It’s an essential tool.”
Petras concluded: “The music industry can be very hectic.”
