How times have changed, celebrity gossip fans.
Years ago, Taylor Swift begged to be left alone after Kanye West released a song calling her a “bitch,” and Kim Kardashian later defended her then-husband by claiming Swift had masterminded the use of the insult approved.
Such a claim was eventually refuted.
“I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative that I have never asked to be a part of since 2009,” Swift said in July 2016.
Now?
Kardashian can identify with her longtime rival.
A few days ago, Swift released her brand new studio album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which includes a single titled “thanK you aIMee.”
Look closely at the capital letters in this title and you will notice that they are spelled out KIM.
The lyrics then contain not-so-subtle references to the reality star, as Taylor sings at various points:
I don’t think you’ve changed much, and that’s why I changed your name and all the really defining clues.”
Taylor compares Kardashian (we assume) to a bully, describing this person as a “bronze-tanned statue” in her hometown who “threatens to push me down the stairs of our school,” but also as someone who helped her “heal.” . and become strong.
Neither Swift nor Kardashian directly addressed this title or the words in it.
However, an insider tells People Magazine that Kim is the one who would now like to be removed from this ongoing narrative.
“She’s over it and thinks Taylor should move on,” the source tells this outlet.
Kardashian “doesn’t understand why [Swift] keep harping on it,” the magazine adds. “It’s literally been years.”
In a way, Kim was forced to join Swift because his daughter is a big fan of the singer; Kardashian has shared many videos of North West belting out Taylor Swift songs.
This is just the sweetest revenge for Swift.
The mother of four has lost over 100,000 followers since Taylor dragged her into this song too.
In the chorus of “thanK you aIMee,” Swift sings:
All this time you were striking, I was building something/And I can’t forgive the way you made me feel/Screamed “F–you, Aimee” into the night sky as the blood flowed/But I can’t forget the way you did you healed me.
In 2019, Kardashian claimed during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live that she, Swift and West had “all put the feud behind them.”
But in a rare interview, Swift appeared to deny any such relationship redemption.
“It would be nice if we could get an apology from people who bully us,” she told Elle, apparently referring to the illegally recorded phone call and subsequent mention in West’s rap song.
“But maybe I’ll ever just feel the satisfaction of knowing I can survive it and still thrive.”
ThriveTaylor Swift definitely did.
