Kevin Spacey Promises to Respond to Channel 4 Documentary Series Spacey Unmasked

Kevin Spacey promised on Thursday to respond to new allegations made in the docuseries Spacey exposed which will air in the UK on Channel 4 from May 6th to 7th and also in the US on Max.

The docuseries, according to Channel 4, “explores Spacey’s behavior and speaks to several men he has nothing to do with.” [last year’s] Case about their experiences with Kevin Spacey, which almost all of them have never spoken about before.”

Spacey, who has faced multiple sexual assault charges and was found not guilty at London’s Southwark Crown Court last year on nine charges relating to four men, said he had asked for an opportunity to respond to the contents of the docuseries but they do not receive enough time for this.

“I’ve asked for this again and again over the last week @Channel4 “Give me more than seven days to respond to the allegations made against me for 48 years and provide me with sufficient details to investigate these matters,” Spacey said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) today. “Channel 4 declined on the grounds that asking me to respond within seven days to new, anonymised and unspecified allegations was a “fair opportunity” for me to refute all the allegations made against me.

“I will not sit back and be offended by a dying broadcaster’s one-sided ‘documentary’ of me in its desperate attempt to gain ratings. There is a proper channel to deal with allegations against me and it is not Channel 4.

Each time I was given the time and appropriate forum to defend myself, the allegations failed scrutiny and I was exonerated.”

He added that he would be giving his own response to the allegations in the docuseries on his X-Feed this weekend.

Spacey exposed was announced two years ago but remained quiet until Channel 4 released a trailer and announced the broadcast date last week. Produced by Mike Lerner and former Channel 4 News boss Dorothy Byrne, it features never-before-seen interviews and examines Spacey’s life from childhood to early success on Broadway and subsequent meteoric rise to stardom before his fall.

After a deal between Warner Bros. Discovery and distributor All3Media International, it was picked up by Max and ID in the US.
