Kelsea Ballerini has entered its high fashion era. The 30-year-old singer was fascinated by her Met Gala debut and will grace the famous red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the first time on Monday.
Ballerini wore a pink and purple floral dress for the occasion. At her side was her boyfriend of one year, Outer Banks star Chase Stokes. The 31-year-old actor looked dapper in a shimmering black suit with no shirt underneath.
ET caught up with Ballerini at the 2024 CMT Music Awards last month, where she discussed whether she and Stokes have any plans to make music together given fan requests for a collaboration.
“He has such a good voice,” she said. “He has such a good speaking voice, when he sings I’m like, ‘Agh, yeah.'”
Ballerini added: “I’m trying. I just say, ‘Make a pseudonym and sing a harmony on the record, no one has to know.'”
The musician said working on her next album is her “biggest priority” this year, but she is open to more new projects.
Stokes, meanwhile, is in production on Netflix’s highly anticipated upcoming season Outer Banksin which he plays the series’ main character, John B. The third season of the series dropped in February 2023 and the fourth season is expected to release on the streaming platform sometime in 2024 Netflix.
Whether Ballerini would appear on his show or not is not off the table.
“I love seeing him on set and this season is incredible. I’m so excited for everyone,” she said. “Just as he is here tonight to support and be loving, I love being able to do the same for him.”
The star-studded Met Gala 2024 – hosted by Fashion Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour – presents the theme “Sleeping Beauty: Fashion Reawakening” as a nod to fashion history. Curated and organized by the Costume Institute, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibition theme features 250 objects from its permanent collection, presented in new, innovative ways.
Since 1995, Wintour has been co-chair of the Met Gala Fashionthe partnership began with the Met Gala. This year’s co-chairs also include Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth And Bad bunny.
This year’s dress code is “The Garden of Time,” inspired by JG Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name. Accordingly Fashion“The most obvious interpretation would be to include the ‘garden’ part of ‘The Garden of Time.’ Think melancholic flowers (since moody flowers aren’t moody enough).”
