One of the AI-generated images shows the singer in a long ball gown with flowers on the skirt and bushes at the bottom, while another shows Perry in a metal corset with green cascading down the bottom to form a skirt and tail.
In the carousel, Perry also posted photos of a fan waiting for her outside the Met Gala, herself singing in the studio, and a text message from her mother in which she had to explain that the images circulating on social media were created by AI.
“Ha Feather! I didn’t know you went to the Met,” her mother’s text message read. “What a beautiful dress, you look like the Rose Parade, you are your own float lol.”
Perry replied to her mother via text message: “Lol mom, the AI got you too, ATTENTION!”
Unfortunately, it looks like fans will have to wait another year before seeing the singer on the Met Gala carpet again, even though Perry had some of the most iconic looks of all time at the event, including her Cheeseburger and chandelier outfits 2019 and you Angel wings outfit 2018. For her last appearance in 2022 she has kept things more low key and elegant in a black and white one-shoulder dress by Oscar de la Renta.
Before Perry announced on Instagram that she wouldn’t be attending Monday’s event in New York, she spoke to ET just hours earlier American idol On the red carpet, she appeared coy when asked if she would fly to New York to make it to the Met.
“This is my Met Gala. This is my garden party,” Perry told ET. “Here I am, transformed, the butterfly you’ve been waiting for.”
While the show and its hosts had the day off on Monday, the singer appears to be fully focused on new music and successfully completing her career as a judge. Perry announced departure from American idol after seven seasons earlier this year and intends to step down at the end of the season.
As for her replacement, her fellow judges say, Lionel Richie And Luke BryanWell-known singers like pitched Kelly Clarkson And Meghan Trainor will take Perry’s place in the coming months.
“Finding someone to replace Katy with a sense of humor has to be fun but not selfish because we insult each other so much,” Richie recently shared.
