It seems Deadpool and Wolverine are cable cutters! Josh Brolin recently spoke about not being able to reprise his iconic role in the MCU.
The internet has lost its collective mind Deadpool and Wolverine, examining every frame in the trailer for unexpected cameos. However, it seems that not every mutant could return to the MCU. A notable exception seems to be Josh Brolin’s Cable, which played a large role in it Deadpool 2. When it was recently teased that he was clearly in the film due to a false IMDB listing, Brolin explained that Marvel is an almost impossible system to understand.
“I am? Yeeeesssss! I So “I wanted to be in this movie,” Brolin joked to The Playlist. “[Marvel] is a more complex labyrinth than External area ever will be, my friend. And I’ll never know where that went or what that is or what I’m involved with or what I’m not involved with – the MCU is involved now. Cable was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed playing this role. That was a lot of fun.”
It’s definitely a shame that Josh Brolin won’t be returning as a cable-in Deadpool and Wolverine. However, considering how much time the film would likely have to spend on his interactions with the TVA in the MCU, it might have been best to just leave his character on the cutting room floor.
Josh Brolin sings the praises of Hugh Jackman
Even if Josh Brolin isn’t there Deadpool and WolverineBut that doesn’t mean the actor can’t celebrate the film. In the same interview, Brolin explained how much he loves Hugh Jackman and emphasized that the actor ages just like the Marvel character he portrays on screen.
“Hugh [Jackman]“I’m absolutely in love,” Brolin continued. “I know Ryan [Reynolds] now, and I met Hugh a few times, and I think when he did Logan-Forget it! I mean, Scott Frank, who wrote it, is a good friend of mine and I’m just thinking about getting together [these characters] is simply fantastic. And Hugh, I don’t know how old Hugh is now – is he 56, 57? I mean, seriously, this guy doesn’t age. So yes. I’m a big fan of his.”
Even if the two don’t meet Deadpool and Wolverine, it’s likely that Josh Brolin and Hugh Jackman’s paths will cross in another MCU project. Jackman is said to be a high priority to get in Avengers: Secret Wars. Considering how many characters there are rumored to be in the film, it seems almost impossible that Brolin won’t be cast as either Thanos or Cable.
