Days later, the actress took to Instagram to explain the personal significance of attending the Burberry-themed event, seven months after her appearance filed for divorce from Joshua Jackson.
“This Met Gala was very special for me… my first step on my own. After reading the short story on which the theme was based, I had many thoughts… but what I took away from it was the desire to represent both the power of nature and its delicacy,” she wrote on Instagram. “In nature, death is both an end and a beginning. Cutting off what is dead allows new buds to grow. Referring to the daughter she shares with Jackson, 4-year-old Juno, the star wrote, “By loving and honoring myself, I can love and honor my daughter and teach her to do the same.”

Although she didn’t mention her ex by name, she made her Met Gala debut in 2022 alongside her fellow actor. About a year and a half later, she filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences after almost four years of marriage. She later broke her silence about their separation in a Sunday Times Interview published in February.
“Sometimes things we really want to work on just don’t end up working out,” Turner-Smith told the publication. “And that’s okay. The most important thing is that you choose what is healthiest for you and your family and certainly for your children.”
Turner-Smith noted: “I don’t think it’s a failure. We obviously had such a lovely moment together. And now it’s time for a new moment for both of us. And how exciting! The bravest thing in the world is to recognize it.” When something isn’t working and I want to make a difference, and I always want to set an example for my daughter. The big realization is that this is just as much about love and joy as always a step forward into a better life for everyone involved.
Jackson has apparently moved on with Lupita Nyong’o, who he was photographed hugging while vacationing in Mexico in March. “Jodie doesn’t pay too much attention to Joshua’s dating life,” one said A source told ET in December 2023. “She is doing great and has surrounded herself with people who are loyal to her and love her. She always had a positive, fun energy and will continue to do so. She’s focused on work and being the best mom she can be.”
