IPL 2024: Parthiv Patel Reprimands Fan for Sharing His Wrong Quote Regarding MI on Social Media

The Mumbai Indians (MI) Management is facing significant backlash from fans following his appointment Hardik Pandya as team captain Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. This decision has sparked numerous rumors and speculations on the Internet. Many users and fans are spreading misinformation about MI’s captaincy decision.

Additionally, a user recently took to social media to share a made-up quote that was wrongly attributed to former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel.

Parthiv Patel calls out the user for sharing a fake quote under his name

Below MI’s four-wicket defeat against Lucknow Super Giants On Tuesday, a user on X (formerly Twitter) shared a misattributed quote allegedly said by Parthiv during commentary on the MI game. The user claimed that Parthiv noted that MI was a formidable team but was struggling in the tournament due to the quick decision to change the team’s captain.

“Mumbai Indians were favorites with such a strong team and still got eliminated from the tournament. “This is what happens when you try to change things quickly.” The user wrote on X, giving credit to Parthiv and adding photos of Hardik and Parthiv.

In response, the 39-year-old curbed this fake news and stated that he was not even involved in the coverage of the LSG vs MI match.

“Misquotation. I haven’t even covered this game yet. The last thing I did was on Sunday. And again next week. So please stop spreading false information to get views and clicks.” Parthiv wrote on X. Notably, the user deleted his tweet after being asked to do so by Parthiv.

In the post-match presentation: MI captain Hardik Pandya blamed the loss on the team’s batting order failure. However, he praised Nehal Wadhera for his innings of 46 off 41.

“I think losing early wickets is hard to recover from and that’s exactly what we failed to do today. You still have to see the ball and hit it. We just missed those balls and came out, that was the season we’ve had so far.” Pandya said.

“I always believed that you would make it and that you would make it, just that you had to give it your all. You can learn a lot from this game. It was fantastic. I think he (Wadhera) did it last year too, he couldn’t get chances earlier but he will play a lot of IPL and India eventually.” the 30-year-old added.
