Maruti Suzuki India Limited is gearing up to launch the new fourth-generation Swift. The start date was confirmed as May 9th. According to reports, the new Swift coming to India will look the same as the international model. However, there will be some differences between the two models. Here is the list of all the changes expected for the new Swift next month.

External differences
Firstly, it was reported that the front and rear bumpers will be tweaked on the Indian version of the Swift. As we have already seen in numerous different videos and images, the new Swift gets a completely redesigned front and rear end.
The main highlight will be the new, slimmer LED headlights with integrated L-shaped LED daytime running lights. This applies to both the Indian and international models. There will also be a new radiator grille with diamond-shaped elements.
Another difference between the two models will be the use of black elements on the outside. As for the side profile, the Swift will come with a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels. Although they will be similar to those of the international model, they will no longer be the same.
It has been reported that they will be slightly different. Additionally, the company will also offer different wheels for the mid-range variants of the new hatchback. The C-pillar of the Swift in India will also be blacked out to give it a floating roof aesthetic.
There will be new LED taillights at the rear. However, unlike the international model, the rear bumper is changed. Finally, the rear view camera of the new Swift in India will also be mounted on the trunk lid.
Interior updates
Most likely, there won’t be too much difference between the interiors of the Indian and international Swifts. Both feature the same 9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen carried over from other Maruti models.
The overall layout will also be the same as Brezza, Baleno and Fronx. The new Swift gets a multi-layered dashboard design with a dual-tone scheme. It will further enhance the premium appeal of this hatchback’s interior.
The international model gets an electronic parking brake and a 360-degree camera. However, the Indian model will most likely miss out on these features. Additionally, there will be no ADAS in the India model.
Differences in the drive train
Maruti Suzuki will offer the new fourth generation Swift with a brand new engine. It now dispenses with the old K12D engine and is equipped with a new Z-series engine. It is a 3-cylinder petrol engine that could come with a 12V mild hybrid system.
The international Swift produces a total of 82 hp and 112 Nm of torque. However, it remains to be seen whether the Indian model will come with a 12V hybrid system.
In addition, the international model is optionally available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT transmission. However, the India model is expected to come with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.
Finally, the company also offers the Swift internationally with its All-Grip AWD system. However, this system will not come to India.
