In Australia, Prices for the 2024 Ford Ranger Have Been Increased and Features Have Been Reduced

ford is increasing prices for most of its locations ranger Lineup effective June 1, 2024, with increases of up to $1,250.

Only the entry-level XL variants avoided a price increase, all other models received a minimum increase of $250.

V6 Rangers, including the gasoline-powered Raptor flagship, were hit with a $1,250 price premium.

“The pricing adjustments are consistent with the assessment of market conditions that we regularly undertake across our product portfolio, which takes into account a number of different external factors such as currency and material cost considerations,” a Ford Australia spokesperson said.

The price increases come despite Ford removing some features for the so-called 2024.5 model year.

Automatic high beams have been removed from all models except the Platinum and Raptor, but remain optional on the Wildtrak.

Ford also removed Ford MyKey, a feature that lets you program a top speed limit for other drivers, among other things, and ditched the Raptor’s optional beadlock wheels and decal package.

However, these changes follow additions Ford announced earlier this year.

This includes the automatic start-stop system for all BiTurbo and V6 models as well as high-performance suspension for the XL models.

The flexible carrier system, previously only available on the Ranger Platinum, is now available as an option on the Sport and Wildtrak.

The sliding rack can be locked at one of five preset positions along the Ranger’s hull.

You can now set the sport and delete the sports bar and charging box access points; On the Wildtrak it is also optional to remove the glider and box rails.

The XLS now also includes Tow Pack and Tech Pack standard features.

Pro Trailer Backup Assist is a $1,650 option on the Ranger XLT and Sport and standard on the Wildtrak, Platinum and Raptor.

“The driver ‘steers’ the trailer using the outer ring of the drive mode controller on the center console,” explained Zack McIntyre, advanced driver assistance systems engineer at Ford.

“When the driver turns the knob, the steering wheel turns, which the driver does not have to touch during the maneuver, to steer the trailer where it needs to go.”

The system is activated by pressing the trailer symbol on the driving mode selector.
