what is The Iron Claw around?
World-class wrestler Fritz von Erich trained his sons to enter the world of professional wrestling, where the boys quickly made a name for themselves. Despite her success in the ring, her life was anything but easy. When father Fritz died in 1996, five of his six sons had already died, which led to the so-called “Von Erich curse”.
The Iron Claw is not just a wrestling film. This biographical sports drama is a tragic true story about the pain and grief that plagued the Von Erichs. Unfortunately, these catastrophic events shaped their storied wrestling legacy. Zac Efron leads the film as Kevin Von Erich, the last surviving son of the famous family.
To prepare for the film, the actors had to alter their bodies to emulate the muscular Von Erich brothers. Jeremy All en White spoke to ET’s Cassie Dilaura about his routine preparing for the role.
“I ate a lot, quite a lot.” White divided. “I just eat as much as I could and just try to lift weights, no cardio.”
The actor also talked about adjusting to his new wardrobe of tiny wrestling shorts. “I wasn’t confident,” he said. “I guess I’ve become more confident. Walking around in your underwear for seven days, you get used to it.”
