The Mongolian national cricket team achieved an unwanted feat in the T20I. They were used for just 12 runs in a T20I match against the Japan national cricket team on Monday (May 7). This is the second lowest score in the history of the shortest game.
Mongolia bowled first in the game against Japan and did not have a particularly good performance with the ball. They ended up conceding 217 goals in a game that took place in Japan. Sabaorish Ravichandran was his team’s top run-getter as he completed 69 innings off 39 balls.
Sabaorish Ravichandran also hit six fours and four sixes in his innings to keep his team on top against the Mongolian national cricket team. Apart from him, Kazuma Kato-Stafford and Ibrahim Takahashi played brief cameos to help Japan score 217 runs at the Sano International Cricket Ground.
Then the Japanese national cricket team came out with the ball full of weapons and made fun of the Mongolian national cricket team’s batting line-up. Kato-Stafford threw impeccable lines and lengths and ran through the opposition batting line-up.
Kato-Stafford took a five-wicket haul in just four overs. Apart from him, Abdul Samad and Makoto Taniyama also took part and picked two wickets. Debutant Benjamin Ito-Davis also scalped a wicket as they bowled out the opposition for just 12 runs.
Tur Sumya was Mongolia’s top run-scorer as he scored 4 runs off 12 balls. Opening batsman Namsrai Bat-yalalt also played 12 balls but managed two runs as they suffered a batting debacle and gave it their all for 12 balls at the Sano International Cricket Ground.
Mongolia’s 12-all out is the second lowest score in the history of T20Is. They are behind the Isle of Man, who gave their all against Spain in just 10 minutes in 2023. The Mongolian team will now hope to make a strong comeback and improve their cricket.
