We’ve known for a while that Gypsy Rose Blanchard is a die-hard Taylor Swift fan.
But is the admiration mutual?
According to a new report from TMZ, Gypsy is convinced Taylor wrote a song specifically for her.
And maybe she’s actually on the trail!
Did Taylor Swift write “Fresh From the Slammer” for Gypsy Rose Blanchard?
“Fresh Out the Slammer” is a track from Taylor’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
As the title suggests, the lyrics tell a story that Gypsy probably finds pretty relatable.
Of course, when Taylor sings about her probation, she’s probably using it as a metaphor to describe the feeling of freedom after the end of a bad relationship.
The released prisoner in the song is eager to find his love again. So we guess it’s possible that Taylor was inspired by Gypsy and Ryan Anderson’s relationship.
If that’s the case, then of course the song hasn’t aged well.
Gypsy filed for divorce from Ryan in April, just three months after completing her prison sentence.
These days, Gypsy is reunited with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker.
Needless to say, the 32-year-old has quite the turbulent love life.
(We won’t even go into Gypsy’s history with the man who murdered her mother.)
So it’s possible she’s referencing some of Taylor’s ballads about messy breakups.
Is Taylor really a Gypsy Rose fan?
Gypsy has been out of prison for several months now and Taylor has not contacted her in any way.
But Gypsy is adamant that she and Tay are members of a mutual admiration society.
According to TMZ, Gypsy has told friends that she suspects Taylor hasn’t contacted her because of the optics of her situation.
She reportedly believes Tay is simply avoiding controversy.
After all, Gypsy is a convicted murderer, and some fans might find it strange if Taylor decided to strike up a friendship with her.
Therefore, communication between Gypsy and Taylor may never occur. And we may never know for sure whether “Fresh Out the Slammer” is about Ms. Blanchard.
Be that as it may, Gypsy remains the most die-hard of Swifties.
