Google launched its mid-range A-series Pixel smartphone around this time of year (usually at the Google I/O developer conference, scheduled to take place on May 14 this year). There are a lot of rumors about the new Pixel 8A – it could cost $499 again. If you’ve been hoping to join the Pixel hardware ecosystem, there’s good news! You don’t have to spend so much. We have the still excellent Pixel 7A from last year on offer Lowest price to date: $349. We also found some good discounts on other Pixel devices, including the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Buds Pro and the Pixel Tablet.
The Google Pixel 7A is WIRED’s top Android smartphone recommendation for most people (8/10, WIRED Recommends). The MSRP of this phone is $499, and while the price often fluctuates, this is the best deal we’ve ever seen. It offers excellent performance, a great camera system, a beautifully bright and sharp 90Hz OLED display, and wireless charging support. It gets two more Android OS upgrades and four more years of security updates. For just $350, that’s a lot of phone, and I haven’t even mentioned many of the smart software features that make these Pixels so helpful to use, nor the great camera system.
The Google Pixel Watch 2 (7/10, WIRED recommends) offers some great improvements over the original Pixel Watch and is worth considering if you’re in the market for a new smartwatch (it works with any Android phone, but not with iPhones). . This is the lowest price we found. It runs Wear OS, which lets you respond to and clear notifications, control your smart home devices, stream music, and track your health and fitness. Speaking of which: There is reliable heart rate measurement, sleep monitoring, an electrocardiogram and fall detection. It also helps that it’s great – it’s one of the nicest smartwatches you can buy right now.
