Goodfellas and Utopia Unveil First Image of Pamela Anderson in Gia Coppola’s ‘The Last Showgirl’ as They Team Up to Sell Together – Cannes Market

EXCLUSIVE: Goodfellas and Utopia are teaming up to sell Gia Coppolas together The Last Showgirlstarring Pamela Anderson as a veteran Las Vegas showgirl reinventing her life, and will go on sale at Cannes.

The partners, who say the film is already attracting international buyer interest, have released a first look at Anderson in the lead role.

Anderson plays a seasoned showgirl who must plan for her future when her show abruptly ends after 30 years. As a dancer in her fifties, she doesn’t know what to do next. As a mother, she strives to repair the strained relationship with her daughter, who has often taken a back seat to her showgirl family.

The Las Vegas-set film is currently in post-production and also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka and Billie Lourd.

Kate Gersten co-wrote the screenplay with Robert Schwartzman (The good half). Natalie Farrey (Her) produced. The cinematography is by Autumn Durald Arkapaw (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and Andrew Wyatt (Barbie) wrote the original music.

It is the first time that Paris-based sales and production company Goodfellas and New York and LA-based sales and distribution company Utopia have joined forces to sell a title together.

The deal builds on connections made through Utopia’s acquisition and distribution in the US of a number of titles sold by Goodfellas (ex Wild Bunch International) in the past, including Holy spider And whirl.

News of Utopia’s partnership with Goodfellas comes just days after the Paris-based film distribution and production company announced it would handle international sales of Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopoliswhich celebrates its world premiere in competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
