Gold Coast Health and Foxo have formed a strategic partnership to improve patient care through the joint development of advanced, secure and consistent communications to improve the patient journey and avoid emergency room visits.
The partnership leverages both organizations’ strengths in digital health transformation and health ecosystem connectivity through the introduction of novel workflows and improved delivery of health services with access across multiple departments.
Patient access and ED avoidance
The partnership initially focused on reducing Gold Coast Health Emergency Department deposition through the introduction of the hospital’s General Medicine – Rapid Access Services (G-RAS).
Using a simple take-home QR code, known chronic patients can access the service directly with roles within the department via secure two-way messaging, file sharing and voice or video calling. The initiative aims to intervene quickly before the condition worsens and prevent emergency room visits and hospitalizations by providing an efficient alternative for ongoing patient care.
Unified communication
At the heart of this partnership is Unified Communications – a framework designed to enable seamless and secure interaction from healthcare professionals and support staff to their patients, referrers and external providers within a unified ecosystem. Foxo’s platform forms a connecting layer that connects patient interactions with GCH’s electronic medical record and Microsoft Teams. Additionally, the workflows are proven to significantly reduce response times and ensure important patient information is always available. In doing so, they are setting new standards for easily accessible networked healthcare.
