Geely has officially unveiled images of the E5, the first all-electric model in the brand’s Galaxy series. Sales in China are expected to take place in the second quarter of this year. The selling price is between 150,000 and 200,000 yuan (approx. RM99,000 to 131,000).
According to reports, the E5 is based on the Geely Electric Architecture (GEA) platform, which can accept different types of propulsion and uses an evolution of the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform used for models such as Polestar 4, Volvo EM90 and Zeekr 001.
The details of the Galaxy E5 drive have not been revealed for now, but Geely said it will come with an 11-in-1 intelligent driving system as well as the Shendun battery safety system. Report published by CarNewsChina China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said the E5 would be offered with a 218 hp (215 hp or 160 kW) engine, a top speed of 175 km/h and a battery Lithium iron phosphate (LFP).
