Forget the Naked Option, This Donkervoort F22 is Wearing a Painting

  • The livery of the Donkervoort F22 Art Edition was designed by the Dutch artist Anneke Wilbrink.
  • The unique piece belongs to a Dutch collector and long-time owner of Donkervoort, who would like to exhibit it in his own gallery.
  • Donkervoort endorsed the model and encouraged existing and future owners to let their imagination run wild when customizing their F22.

Donkervoort is the latest automaker to embrace the art car trend and introduce a one-off version of the F22 track toy. The supercar features a unique livery inspired by one of the Dutch owner’s favorite works of art, adding a personal touch to the vehicle’s bodywork.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9-9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” 6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657″); } });

The owner’s name is Cees Lubbers and he plans to display the F22 Art Edition in his own gallery alongside artwork, cars and motorcycles. According to the Dutch company, Lubbers also owns a red Donkervoort D8 GTO JD70 R that he often drives on the track, so he can make this particular F22 a “garage queen.”

The original painting that inspired the livery of the Donkervoort F22 Art Edition was created by award-winning Dutch artist Anneke Wilbrink. The colorful piece combines tones of cyan, green, yellow, orange and red on a white background and also features the Donkervoort emblem. The artwork covers every inch of the F22’s body panels, creating an eye-catching effect.

The resulting Art Edition was “proudly supported” by Donkervoort. The company encourages existing and future owners of the F22 to let their imagination run wild when it comes to customization.

The Donkervoort F22 Art Edition retains the technical specifications of the standard model and features Audi’s turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine. This engine produces 492 hp (367 kW / 500 hp) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) of torque, resulting in a “diabolical” power-to-weight ratio of 666 hp per ton. Power is transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, supplemented by a Torsen limited-slip differential.

Printing art on cars can be fun, although in Donkervoort’s case we’d probably prefer the ‘Bare Naked’ version of the F22 to the Art Edition pictured. In addition to the gritty looks of the carbon fiber body, this example, combined with the optional carbon fiber wheels, saves 20 kg (44 pounds) less weight than the standard model. While this number may not sound particularly impressive, any weight reduction is always welcome.
