The Big Apple got a little spookier this week after the driver of a Ford Taurus was filmed chasing a shirtless pedestrian, plowing into trash cans and driving onto the sidewalk in a wild incident in Midtown Manhattan

Unfortunately, it is not yet clear what led to this frightening incident. Instagram videos of the altercation begin with the third-generation white bull across the traffic and facing the sidewalk. The car reverses, then lurches forward with squealing tires and drives into black garbage cans.

According to the Instagram account @whatisnewyork, a shirtless pedestrian, who appears to be the subject of the Taurus driver’s wrath, narrowly avoids being hit by the containers located on 39th Street. The limo stops before it or the trash cans touch the storefronts on the other side of the sidewalk.

The shirtless pedestrian then walks away from the Ford and toward a group of people watching the incident. The bull turns to chase after the pedestrian, heading the wrong way down the street and onto the sidewalk. This causes the crowd of onlookers to scatter as they try to escape the car.
The man targeted by the Ford continues past the witnesses, and the Taurus follows him, driving along a bike path and finally onto the sidewalk. After the car stops, the driver jumps out to confront the shirtless man and a shouting ensues.
During the incident, a man can be heard yelling, “Call the police,” while the Taurus driver appears to be yelling, “I’m an undercover detective! I’m undercover PD.”
Luckily, no one in the video appears to be injured, although being chased by a car is undoubtedly terrifying. While the Taurus never drives particularly fast during the altercation, a sedan can be very dangerous for a pedestrian even at low speeds.
