Fardeen Khan, who has not been seen on screen since 2010, made a massive comeback with none other than eminent filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The latter marked his web series debut with Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and alongside him, Fardeen also made a comeback in the entertainment industry as Nawab Wali Mohammed in this pre-independence period drama. Khan expressed his gratitude for taking on the role and shared his experience of walking the red carpet at the premiere held earlier this week by sharing a heartfelt post on social media.

It is a known fact that Fardeen Khan underwent a major transformation before he decided to return to the film industry. The actor couldn’t be more excited to make a comeback on such a big scale. The premiere of the web series took place in Mumbai earlier this week where two episodes of the show were screened for the celebrity guests who were a part of the glitzy evening. Additionally, the star cast also walked the red carpet for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s production and shared their experiences: “14 years later, they are getting ready to walk the red carpet again.”
He further added, “I feel a mix of nervousness and nostalgia, but most of all I’m just grateful.” To my incredible fans who waited, this moment was ours. Without your love and support I wouldn’t be here. Here’s to a new beginning and great memories! I send you all my love.”
Apart from this, Fardeen Khan also shared another post where he said, “Being away for so long, I could only dream of a night like this.” I am with everyone at Netflix, the entire cast and crew and especially Sanjay Leela Bhansali , a true visionary and master of our time. SLB Sir, thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring Wali Mohammed to life. It has been an absolute honor and a lifelong privilege to work at Heeramandi and learn from you.”
In another post, the actor also shared some funny moments with the entire cast of the film which includes Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Taha Shah Badussha and even SLB. Apart from them, the web show also features Shekhar Suman and his son Adyayan Suman.
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is an eight-episode series that will premiere on Netflix from May 1st.
