The friendship between great choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is known to all. They have worked together in numerous hit films and the director has repeatedly expressed her fondness for the actor. However, there was once a fight between SRK and Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder, which somehow led to her friendship with the actor getting into trouble. Later, Farah and Shah Rukh mended their ways in the way they knew best and reconnected like never before.
Farah Khan mentioned that Shah Rukh Khan never slapped Shirish Kunder
Once, during their candid conversation on NDTV Your call, Farah Khan spoke about the alleged feud between her and superstar Shah Rukh Khan due to his brawl with her husband Shirish Kunder. Recalling the incident, the filmmaker mentioned that contrary to rumors, the actress never slapped her husband. However, they have since worked things out and gotten back together. Explaining the serious impact the 2012 incident had on her, Farah recalled:
“Shah Rukh told me that he held Shirish and he said, ‘I was very happy that he didn’t hit back because he kept my respect.’ So this has also become a rumor that the perception has now become greater than it should. But I think what we all learned from this is that it’s gone too far, and it’s like when you need a splash of water when two people are fighting, you have to throw a bucket of water in their face. It was literally an intervention, I would say, and if that hadn’t happened, maybe we wouldn’t have gotten back together, wouldn’t have become friends, and we would have needed that one big thing, otherwise it was just worse, always worse, and too many people got excited and added kerosene to the fire.”

Farah on how strong the bond between her and SRK has become after their alleged feud
In another conversation with PTI, Farah revealed how she and SRK mended their ways. The filmmaker expressed the same sentiment and mentioned that their bond became much stronger after reuniting and no one would take the other person for granted from then on. For those unfamiliar: Farah and SRK then worked together on the project, Happy New Year, to keep the tensions between them at a distance. She said:
“This is the best phase of SRK and me as actors and directors. I don’t think we take each other for granted anymore. When you lose a friendship like that, you realize how valuable it is. When you get it back, you’ll be grateful. We’re talking about everything now. We don’t allow ourselves to be influenced by rumors. There is nothing like this one who said that and the other one who said that. We’re talking about it. You will see this magic in Happy New Year.”
Shah Rukh Khan attacked Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder
According to several reports in 2012, it was during Sanjay Dutt’s star-studded party for his friends at a nightclub in Juhu that Shah Rukh Khan got involved in an argument with Shirish Kunder. An insider told The Times Of India that SRK joined the party around 3:15 am and interacted with his B-town friends but kept his distance from Shirish. This was reportedly because Shirish had reportedly taken a nasty dig at the actor’s film back then. Ra.One, and called it “fireworks” on Twitter. Then, according to the close source, Shirish, who was drunk, allegedly mumbled something in SRK’s ears, which irritated him so much that the latter pushed Shirish on a sofa. Finally, Sanjay had to intervene to stop the fight.

Farah Khan was shocked to see her close friend Shah Rukh hitting her husband Shirish
After much furor emerged in the media over the same incident, Farah revealed to Headlines Today that her husband Shirish was beaten up by Shah Rukh and his three bodyguards at Sanjay Dutt’s party. Talking further about it, Farah mentioned how shocked she was when Shah Rukh, who always told her that physical abuse is not the solution to every problem, did something like this to her husband. She shared:
“Shirish, my husband, was beaten up by Shah Rukh and his three bodyguards in Sanjay Dutt’s group. Shah Rukh asked Shirish why he tweeted against him… There was no provocation from us. He had shouted at Shirish and told him that he would destroy me too, always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to solve a problem and that it means that the person who hits is either in a personal or professional crisis, and it makes me sad to see him do the same thing.”
