Britain’s Abbi Pulling dominated the first F1 Academy race in Miami and extended her championship lead.
Pulling beat Mercedes junior Doriane Pin to take victory on track for the first time this year after inheriting Pin’s victory in the second race in Saudi Arabia.
The 21-year-old leads Pin by 24 points after three races and will also start live from pole in the second race in Miami Sky Sports F1 on Sunday at 6:05 p.m.
The drag was in a class of its own from start to finish and was put under pressure by Pin, who ended up five seconds behind.
Chloe Chambers fought her way to third place on the podium from seventh on the grid, making some incredible overtakes on Maya Weug and Nerea Marti.
Weug crossed the finish line in fourth place, but received a five-second time penalty due to track limits, dropping him to sixth place behind Marti and Hamda Al Qubaisi.
Britain’s Jessica Edgar came seventh ahead of Amna Al Qubaisi, Bianca Bustamante and Lola Lovifosse. Bustamante had started fourth but stalled on the grid and fought his way up to ninth.
Tina Hausmann crashed on the first lap after arguing with Aurelia Nobels in the tight middle sector, while Williams junior Lia Block spun and finished last.
