drake sent the last shot in his Kendrick Lamar Beef, but fans — trolls, actually — could have the final say by flocking to GoFundMe to mock him, and potentially profit from his rap demise… which the company is shutting down.
Here’s the deal… while the dust may be settling on the rap front – most pundits say Kendrick won – people on the internet still have major issues with all the back and forth between these two hip-hop titans , and some even even ran to GFM to raise a dollar… or that was the plan.
In fact, a lot of people have created fake GoFundMe campaigns in the last 24 hours or so… and many of them are at Drake’s expense, raising funds to celebrate his metaphorical funeral… if you buy, he’s got the rap war Lost in 2024.
Some of the titles for these fake fundraisers are pretty hilarious, we admit. There’s “Support Kendrick Lamar’s Studio Time for the Ultimate Diss T;” “Join the Love Fund for Drake’s Farewell;” “RIP Drake(champagnepapi): Fans Unite in Grief” … and others.
As ridiculous as these GFM pages sound, the pranksters were trying to raise very real money – with fundraising goals as low as $10,000 and as high as $616,000… a nod to Kendrick’s dissident title “6:16 in LA.”
Luckily for everyone, these idiots didn’t raise a dime before GoFundMe stepped in to monitor the act.
A company representative tells TMZ… “We can confirm that we are monitoring the platform for the launch of appropriate fundraising campaigns and will remove any that have not been approved by the recipient of the funds. $0 was raised. We have zero tolerance for misuse of our platform.”
In other words… GFM suppressed the campaigns before anyone could be persuaded to donate – which is a relief, as we certainly see some overly passionate fans helping out.
As you know… the last person who did it take a swing was Drake, who used his song “The Heart Part 6” to intensify allegations that Kendrick was physically at odds with his longtime fiancée. For his part, Kendrick has repeatedly accused Drake of grooming underage girls, something he has denied.
K.Dot hasn’t responded yet, but the thugs are out there hoping to take his name anyway. Be careful out there y’all…this money doesn’t grow on trees and if you donate to this fake crap you might as well consider it money in the grave!!!
