Trump talks about campus arrests

Demonstrations broke out on college campuses across the country.

Trump said the protests were a “Shame.” Additionally, Donald supported the arrests at Hamilton Hall. He said, “It was nice to see.”

The former president described the entire city as such “under siege.”

“…they did an incredible job. They went into one of the large buildings, a beautiful landmark. “Boy, it was a lot of fun last night.” he explained.

Trump continued: “But the police came and everything was over in exactly two hours. It was beautiful to see.”

“The Best of New York” the likely Republican nominee added.

Furthermore, he encouraged “every college president” To “Remove the bearings immediately.”

How police cleared Hamilton Hall

The protests began at Columbia University two weeks ago and gradually escalated. At the end of the week, protesters opposing Israel’s military strikes on Gaza took control of Hamilton Hall. Officers arrived on campus after the university requested assistance. The NYPD broke in through a window late Tuesday using zip ties and riot shields. The police then arrested demonstrators. The building was also evacuated.

The expected Republican presidential nominee criticized Joe Biden on Wednesday for holding back on the issue.

“Biden is nowhere to be found. He said nothing”, Trump explained.

However, as previously reported, Biden made a statement at a press conference at the White House on Thursday (May 2). The president said he supported protests on campus but condemned hate speech and the destruction of property.

Joe said American rights must be protected. “The first is the right to freedom of expression and the right of people to peacefully assemble and have their voices heard. The second point is the rule of law. Both must be preserved.”
