Demi Lovato has returned Met Gala!
After an eight-year absence, the “Confident” singer stepped onto the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for fashion’s biggest night on Monday – and made a glamorous statement.
Lovato, 31, followed this year’s theme of “The Garden of Time” in an elegant chrome dress by Prabal Gurung. Lovato’s monotone dress was adorned with elegant florals that flowed from the halter bust to the foot-length train with lace details.
On her neck, alongside her tattoos, was a De Beers diamond piece.
For her glam, the “Tell Me You Love Me” singer wore sparkling silver eyeshadow with a black accent shadow blended outside her lid and completed the glam with a chic nude pout.
Lovato decided to change up her hairstyle, swapping her short bob for long dark locks that reached the top of her back.
Before hitting the green carpet, Lovato took to her Instagram Story to reveal her return and show off her dress.
Lovato last attended the Met Gala in 2016, when she was part of the Moschino crew and posed alongside designer Jeremy Scott and rapper Nicki Minaj. Following the event, Lovato opened up about the evening, teasing that it might be her last time at the fundraiser.
“This picture pretty much sums up my first and probably last meeting???,” the singer wrote, adding some appropriate hashtags. “#cool #sof***ingawkward #notforme #sweatpants #forensicfiles #whatsgood,” she captioned the photo – which has since been moved.
Lovato later updated the post, dispelling any speculation about a conflict with Minaj.
“Ps some of you need to learn to take jokes,” Lovato added. “I’m obviously laughing at the fact that 1. I look incredibly awkward and 2. the shadow cast in this picture actually confuses me. “Life???.”
It’s safe to say Lovato is feeling a little more confident as she walked the carpet tonight.
