Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant apologized to the cameraman after the match against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Rishabh Pant-led team secured a narrow four-run win at home in Delhi on Wednesday, April 24.
Rishabh Pant played a crucial role in Delhi Capitals’ thrilling win. The left-handed batsman scored an unbeaten 88 runs off 43 deliveries with the help of five boundaries and eight sixes. The DC captain led the Delhi-based team to a challenging total of 224/4 in the allotted 20 overs.
The wicketkeeper-batter and Axar Patel, who scored 66 runs off 43 balls, rescued the team from a challenging situation with 44/3 in the powerplay. The duo added 113 runs off 68 deliveries for the fourth wicket. Pant and Tristan Stubbs added 67 runs from the last 18 deliveries in the death overs.

Rishabh Pant scored his third half-century of the season. The southpaw scored 31 runs in the final over against Mohit Sharma. However, one of his shots injured a cameraman. Pant later apologized to the cameraman in a heartfelt video message.
“Sorry Debashish Bhai, I didn’t mean to hit you, but I think you can recover well and good luck.” Pant said.

Rishabh Pant made a strong comeback to competitive cricket after a 15-month injury layoff. He has performed exceptionally well in the ongoing tournament, scoring 342 runs in nine matches at an average of 48.85 and a strike rate of 161.32, including three half-centuries.
The 26-year-old batsman is currently ranked third on the list of leading run-scorers. Delhi Capitals have moved to sixth place in the 10-team points table. The team has registered four wins in nine matches in IPL 2024, keeping its playoff hopes alive in the ongoing T20 tournament.

During the post-match presentation, Rishabh Pant stated that he is feeling better after the time he spent in the middle. Pant mentioned that the first six hits in the match boosted his confidence.
“Every day I’m in the middle I feel better. Every hour on the field counts, I love being on the field. I try to give 100% and sometimes that takes some time. I think the top six are in.” “The game gives me confidence in a game. The more time I spend at the center, the better I feel.” Pant explained.
The Delhi cricketer is in the running for the T20 World Cup 2024 due to his exceptional batting and wicketkeeping skills in IPL 2024. Delhi Capitals director Sourav Ganguly and coach Ricky Ponting recently backed his selection in India’s T20 World Cup squad.
Rishabh Pant will next be seen in action against Mumbai Indians (MI) at their home stadium on Saturday, April 27. Mumbai Indians are in eighth place in the table and have won three of eight games.
