A Tesla owner said he needed stitches after cutting his leg while getting out of his Cybertruck on an incline.

“Be careful when closing the door of your Cybertruck!” said the owner in a post on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum. “I parked on an incline, got out of the truck and when I closed the door I managed to jam the corner of the door against my leg.”

The user said the corner of the door was not that sharp, but he closed the door with force and it hit his leg, causing damage. The post included a photo of the bloody cut and the corner of the door that hit his leg.

“When I got home the woman said I needed stitches so I did,” the poster said.

The owner said he still loves the Cybertruck and blamed the incident on his own clumsiness. Business Insider reached out to the Cybertruck owner for more information about the incident but did not receive a response prior to publication. Tesla did not respond when asked for comment.

There is a door closing warning in Tesla’s owner’s manual that says, “Be careful around the edges of the Cybertruck, including the doors, power trunk, tailgate, and surrounding panels.”

The warning also advises owners to always hold the top of the door when opening it and to keep hands and fingers away from the edge of the opening.

The manual states: “Failure to follow the correct opening procedure for front and rear doors could result in injury.”

Another commenter who responded on the forum said he also accidentally injured himself.

“This beast has some sharp edges. I cut my finger while washing the car,” the person said. “Nothing as bad as you, of course, but there was still blood bleeding. Lesson learned, I’ll pay attention to the edges next time.”

Other Cybertruck owners have reported hurting their fingers after intentionally closing the vehicle’s front trunk – or frunk – to test the safety sensor. After a viral video in which a Tesla owner tested the Frunk’s frunk sensor by attaching it to his finger, other owners tried the trend and one ended up with a deep cut and a finger splint.
