Corvette Breaks Traction and Plows Into the Crowd

Another day, another powerful sports car filmed racing into a crowd at a car event somewhere in the US. This time it wasn’t a Ford Mustang, but another home-built performance car: a blacked-out C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9-9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” 6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657″); } });

Although the video is short, the driver of the ‘Vette appears to be trying his best to do a burnout in front of the crowd, but he doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing. First, you may notice the front wheels turning to the right as the driver begins to spin the rear wheels.

After the car begins to lose traction on the sandy patch of asphalt, the rear end quickly breaks out and the driver is unable to correct the problem. The sports car then collided with several spectators at the event, throwing at least two of them to the ground. To make matters worse for the Corvette driver, they also collide with a white Dodge Durango parked on the side of the road.

The distinctive whistle of a supercharger makes us think that this Corvette has been supercharged, and if that’s the case, it’s probably producing decent power. However, it is not the force that is responsible for the accident, but rather the driver’s lack of skill (not to mention the stupid decision to attempt such a maneuver so close to people). Alternatively, it could be that the car experienced a strange mechanical or electronic issue that caused the accident, but we don’t think that’s likely.

There’s a reason cars have traction control systems. If you are not an experienced driver, you should not turn these off. Sure, most drivers could get away with this with a low-performance front-wheel-drive hatchback, but if you have a powerful rear-wheel-drive sports car, it’s a good idea to leave these on.
