EXCLUSIVE: 7EQUIS, the creative team behind the comedy podcast Bad Friends with Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino, starts his latest comedy series Almost alpha with up-and-coming comedians and longtime friends Taylor Williamson and Joey Bragg.
Almost alpha is a comedy podcast hosted by two best pals—and a 4.6-pound Chihuahua named Betty, who keeps the boys grounded with her female paws perspective as they discuss most beta things in a totally alpha way .
“We’re so excited to make people laugh and smile with us and help them forget their worries for an hour every week in these crazy times… And make them feel terrible for not being alphas like us !” Williamson said in a statement.
“Woof,” Betty added emphatically in a rare statement to the press.
“I believe with all my heart that what the world needs now is love, patience and a hard reset. But I can’t do any of that, so instead I decided to monetize my friendship and start a podcast,” Bragg shared.
Since the start Bad friends With co-hosts Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino in February 2020, 7EQUIS has helped the show reach over 15 million fans monthly on YouTube and audio and has toured 59 US cities, with its first international tour on the horizon. With the launch of the YouTube channel 7EQUIS and its latest show, the company is building a destination for aspiring comedy creators Almost alpha with Taylor Williamson and Joey Bragg.
Williamson is a stand-up comedian, actor, writer and producer who was ranked #2 on NBC America’s Got Talent. His new comedy special “Live at The Comedy Store” is streaming on YouTube. He has been featured on podcasts like WTF with Marc Maron And Bad Friends with Bobby Lee and Andrew Santino.
Williamson created and starred in unscripted films that were sold to Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, among others. On the stand-up front, he will headline the Elysian Theater on May 12 as part of the Netflix is a Joke Festival. He is currently shopping for his latest project Bon appetita comedic dog food cooking series starring Ginger Gonzaga (She-Hulk, True Lies) and Love Productions (The Great British Bake Off, The Great American Baking Show). He is represented by Myman Greenspan Fox.
Betty is a Chihuahua who was rescued from a hoarding situation. She enjoys being carried and fed by her assistant, Taylor Williamson. She is currently looking for representation.
Bragg has been a comedian for over half his life. From the age of 13 he became a regular player in all clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area. At 16, he moved to Los Angeles for a starring role on the Disney Channel show Liv and Maddie. He then starred in several films such as that of Netflix Father of the Year, Sid is dead And Mark and Russell’s wild ride.
Additional credits include Criminal thoughts, Wet hot American summer, Love daily and several other shows that he doesn’t think are notable enough to mention. He recently played Freddie Raines on the ABC sitcom Call your mother. He is repped by Mainstay, Paradigm and Mark S. Temple.
