Ciara Wants to Lose 30 Pounds and Says It’s Hard to Lose Weight After Giving Birth

Ciara gets honest about the pressure to lose weight after pregnancy.

The 38-year-old singer shared her goal of losing 70 pounds after giving birth to her fourth child, daughter Amora Princess Wilson, in December 2023 — calling the task “tough shit” in an Instagram post.

“Trying to lose 70 pounds after giving birth, getting ready for a show and a tour while breastfeeding, and running my business… Shout out to all my moms out there coming in, I see you!” ToughSh$t. #MambaMentality🐍,” wrote Ciara – and called out to the deceased Kobe Bryant and his widow, Vanessa Bryantby wearing a black Mamba-inspired Nike sweatshirt with “Tough St” written on it.

Ciara, who appears to be makeup-free and wearing her braids in the photo, quickly received support from her famous friends. “If anyone can do it, it’s you.” Holly Robinson Peete commented during Gabrielle Union I threw out a few arm muscle emojis.

She has been open about her postpartum figure, recently posting a video of herself wearing a low-cut maroon swimsuit just two months after giving birth to Amora.

“Embrace every stage of life 🤍,” she captioned the footage, which appeared to have been taken while on vacation. Wilson, 35, praised his wife in the comments section, writing: “Beautiful black queen. I love you.”

Ciara also walked the red carpet with Wilson at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty on March 10, stunning in a sheer, skin-tight taupe dress. Sharing photos from the star-studded event, she wrote: “I Night Was Had…Vanity Fair. Oscars 👌🏽.”

The “Level Up” hitmaker is expected to join Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes and producer Timbaland to Elliott’s headliner Heavenly tour, which begins July 4th in Vancouver, BC and ends August 22nd in Rosemont, Illinois.
