In the clip, Brinkley, 70, smiles as she sways to the music and recites the song’s lyrics along with the sold-out audience. From the stage, the piano man smiled as he sang the song and looked in the direction of his ex-wife.

Joel, 74, and Brinkley were married from 1985 to 1994. The two parents of Alexa are Ray Joel, 37.

Following the show, Brinkley shared a video with clips from the concert, including her dance to “Uptown Girl,” the moment her daughter Alexa surprised Joel with a performance of “To Sir With Love” and sang along with her 25-year-old . one-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook.

“Thank you for singing us a song, @billyjoel and @alexarayjoel. We are fine! Just a few snippets from a magical evening in the garden! (sometimes with thumb over the speaker, I apologize) @sailorbrinkleycook I have to add that we were pretty good backing singers, right? 😜 #billyjoelmsg #girldad #daddysgirl #historic #residence.”

In another video, Brinkley celebrated Alexa and Joel’s moment on stage with an extended video of their duet performance of “Say Goodbye to Hollywood.”

“Before @Billy Joel‘s historic residence in @the garden becomes a souvenir that slowly fades. One more unforgettable night! “Alexa Ray and her pop in perfect harmony say Good Bye to Hollywood one last time in this massive arena that Billy has turned into his own cozy living room,” she wrote. “And then, as if this charming duo wasn’t enough.” When she surprised her father with a serenade of “To Sir With Love,” tears welled up in her eyes (technical difficulties in my video, so not pictured), but believe me, it was sweetness personified. Billy kept his word, faklempt! (Sorry if I deleted you, but I just noticed that both clips didn’t load, so try again ❤️🩷💜.)

Joels The decade-long residency at Madison Square Garden ends in July – after his 150th show.

In February, the GRAMMY-winning musician spoke to ET and teased his future onstage in the Big Apple.

“Well, I never said I would never play at the Garden again, just this particular run and residency, that’s the end of it for now,” he shared. “We can play the Garden again, I can play other places in New York that I haven’t played in the last 10 years, so it opens up a whole new world.”
