Chris O’Hara on How The Fall Guy Portrays Stunt Performers

Chris O’Hara shares all the details of the work that goes into designing the stunts in the new action/comedy film, The Guy caseand how the film accurately portrays stunt performers.

“I think when people think of stunts, they see the big stunts that are in the movies. You don’t understand how you got to this process,” O’Hara, who was given the title of stunt designer for the first time ever, said exclusively Us weekly.

Noting that he and his team are working “hand in hand with the writers, the director, other department heads and the production designer” to “design the final sequence for the stunt,” O’Hara said he hopes his title changes serve as a tool to “make people realize that what we do is more on a larger scale than just cool stunts.”

He adds: “It’s the design, it’s the engineering, it’s the safety, all the steps that need to be taken to see what’s exciting.”

“That was a beautiful thing about this film that we had David Leach As our director, David and I grew up together in the company,” he explained. “And so there are all these little nuances in the film business. We really want to stay true to our craft. It’s all a real atmosphere. And you really feel like – I don’t know when Ryan is playing this character. I really feel like he’s really playing a stunt guy.
