Chery Malaysia Recalls 600 Omoda 5 Units Due to Possible Axle Problems – They Will Be Replaced with New Parts – Paultan.org

Chery Malaysia has issued a precautionary safety recall for 600 units of the Omoda 5 due to a possible axle problem. This came following a viral social media post in which the rear axle of a customer’s Omoda 5 appeared to have detached from the vehicle while driving.

According to the company, the parts of the affected vehicles will be completely replaced and not repaired. The work takes about two hours and is free of charge for the owners. Affected owners will be contacted directly shortly to hand in their cars.

It added that it had identified a batch of affected parts, but even within that batch not all units had problems. Nevertheless, all 600 affected units will undergo a precautionary safety check.

The company assured its customers that the affected cars remained roadworthy and claimed that the viral incident was an isolated incident. Unaffected customers outside the 600 units can still contact Chery Malaysia’s Careline on +603 2771 7070 to have their cars checked and full reports of the checks will be provided.
