Chelsea Were Washed Out by the Flop of Conte, Who Earned More Than Cole Palmer

It has been another difficult season of Premier League football for Chelsea this year.

Despite spending huge amounts of money on talented young players over the summer and signing Mauricio Pochettino to get the best out of them, the Blues have struggled to get a string of positive results and with five games to go it now looks unlikely that they will reach the European places.

However, this year at least brought out one positive: Cole Palmer. The young Englishman has been an incredible achievement for the west Londoners and what makes his signing all the more impressive is the fact that he is currently earning less than one of Chelsea’s biggest flops in recent years.

Cole Palmer’s season in numbers

The Pensioners completed the £42.5m signing of Palmer in September last summer and although he looked relatively impressive for City in brief cameo appearances, the fact that he appeared in 1,481 minutes of senior football for the treble winners only made matters worse Scored six goals and two assists, making the difference a bit of a risk.
