Charles Barkley doesn’t believe there are winners Larsa Pippen And Marcus Jordan‘s relationship.
“I am sorry Michael [Jordan]. I am sorry Scotty [Pippen]. This is so chaotic,” Barkley, 61, said on the Wednesday, May 1, episode Shannon SharpeClub Shay Shay Podcast. “I don’t like chaos because when it’s chaotic, everyone has an opinion about it.”
Larsa, 49, and Scottie, 58, tied the knot in 1997. The exes, who had an on-and-off relationship, share four children: Scotty Jr., 23, Preston, 22, Justin, 19, and Sophia, 15 Larsa and Scottie finally separated in 2018 and finalized their divorce in 2021. In The following year, Larsa began dating Marcus, 33, Michael’s son. While 61-year-old Michael and Scottie were teammates on the Chicago Bulls in the ’90s, the athletes have had a public rivalry off the field for years.
“Everyone has an opinion and you know the internet is not a place for disorder,” Barkley said of Larsa and Marcus’ romance. “And you have to understand that there are a lot of kids involved and people are mean.”
Barkley, who played in the NBA at the same time as Scottie and Michael, added that he wouldn’t be happy if one of his teammates started dating his daughter. (Barkley shares daughter Christiana, 35, with his wife Maureen Blumhardt.)
“There are no winners. There are only losers,” he said. “Obviously the relationship between Michael and Scottie can never be the same.”
After Larsa and Marcus confirmed they were dating, Michael shared that he didn’t approve of his son’s new relationship. Larsa later admitted that she was “traumatized” and taken aback by Michael’s candor. However, Marcus attributed the remark to his father’s sense of humor.
“I have to laugh when I read the headline. I know my dad,” Marcus said during a July 2023 episode of his and Larsa’s “Separation Anxiety” podcast. “Part of our DNA is to talk shit. He is playful. He laughs. He is a little enlightened. I didn’t put too much emphasis on it.”
While Larsa and Marcus’ connection was strong in their first year together, the couple hit a roadblock in February. Larsa raised eyebrows during Super Bowl weekend when she deleted all mentions of Marcus from her social media. Us Weekly confirmed that the duo called it quits after a year of dating.
Before their split, Larsa and Marcus competed on the second season of The traitors. A month after their separation, the ex-partners filmed the reunion special together. While chatting with Andy CohenMarcus confessed that the couple had “a speed bump,” but they were fine.
After the reunion aired in March, Larsa and Marcus broke up again and unfollowed each other on social media. Later that month, Larsa opened up about her breakup Us that she and Marcus were on “different journeys.”
However, a month later, the exes were spotted holding hands while walking on the beach in Miami. Neither Larsa nor Marcus have revealed whether they have rekindled their relationship.
