Chad Michael Murray says he is patiently waiting by the phone for a call Crazy Friday 2 and to get the conversation going about a possible sequel A Cinderella story in the meantime.
On Tuesday, the 42-year-old actor spoke to ET’s Deidre Behar from the premiere of his new Netflix film. Mother of the bridewhere he expressed his excitement at the prospect of returning in two of his 2000s roles.
The A tree hill alum and father of three said this as several of his films hit the two-decade mark – the original Crazy Friday published in 2003 A Cinderella story came out in 2004 – he looks back fondly on his heartthrob label while celebrating this new and domesticated phase of his life.
“It was great and now my daughter has seen it A Cinderella story So that was a really interesting and fun moment,” he said. “She looked at me and said, ‘You’ve got to do another one of these, Daddy.'”
Murray and his wife, Disturbances Actress Sarah Romer tied the knot in 2015 and had her first child, a son, shortly after. They have since added two daughters to their brood, one in 2017 and one another in August.
The actor told ET on Wednesday that he would like to reprise his role as Austin Ames alongside him, given his longtime fondness for the film and his daughter’s newfound love A Cinderella story co-star, Hilary Duff.
“Here you are, Hil. From me to you, let’s do it,” said Murray, appealing to the 36-year-old actress who recently retired welcomed a new baby by herself. He even suggested a basic plot for a follow-up film.
Murray said: “I think, as we know, it doesn’t always work out, so I think they go their separate ways and we’re bringing them back now, after separating from their significant others, in a new Cinderella story.”

At the moment, Lucas Scott says he’s just excited for the world to finally see his reunion with Waters, who also stars Brooke ShieldsBenjamin Bratt, Rachael Harris And Miranda Cosgrove.
In the film, 58-year-old Shields plays the mother who travels to a tropical location with her daughter, 30-year-old Cosgrove, for her wedding. Things quickly go awry when Shields’ character realizes that her daughter’s soon-to-be father-in-law (Bratt) is an ex for whom she has complicated feelings. Murray completes the love triangle with Bratt and Shields, joking that it was hard work romancing the two Pretty baby Star.
“It was brutal, my dad – my dad literally said, ‘Oh man, you have a tough job,'” he told ET. “It’s ironic, let’s make sure, because if you just read the headline it doesn’t make any sense.”
Murray said it was a surreal experience filming with the actress and model, who he described as having a “hysterical” and “crush” from his childhood.
“I saw Blue Lagoon And, oh my God, but after that I remember my dad – I think that was it Suddenly Susan – and my dad watched it, and so my dad had as much of a crush on her as I did,” he said of his co-star.
