Family forever. Cardi B And offset showed some subtle PDA and held hands as they attended a Met Gala afterparty together on Monday night.
The duo, who have broken up and gotten back together several times over the course of their relationship, put on a united front at Richie Akiva’s 10th annual “The After” Met Gala afterparty. Cardi and Offset were photographed months later walking together with their fingers intertwined Cardi said the couple had broken up and she was “single” In December.
They were also photographed sitting next to each other during the soirée, with Vetements creative director Guram Gvasalia between them.
That same evening, Offset was also on hand to support his longtime love as she performed at the FWRD & Revolve presents Cardi B’s Met Ball After Party at Silencio NY in New York City.
Cardi B’s sister, Hennessy Carolina, was also there.
Cardi B and Offset first sparked relationship rumors in 2017 when they were spotted socializing at a Met Gala afterparty. They tied the knot in September of this year and welcomed their first child – daughter Kulture, now 5 – in July 2018. They also have a son together, 2-year-old Wave.
Offset is also father to 14-year-old Jordan, 9-year-old Kody and 9-year-old Kalea from previous relationships.
Offset appeared to be a no-show for the 2024 Met Gala earlier in the evening as Cardi walked the red carpet alone in a dramatic dress by Windowsen. The 31-year-old “Up” rapper arrived at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in a gigantic black ball gown that was so big it took eight people to carry it up the museum’s famous steps.
For her late-night look, Cardi donned a red corset dress with a train that apparently only required one person – her sister.
This isn’t the first time Cardi and Offset have rekindled their flame in 2024. The duo were spotted ringing in the New Year together at a Miami club shortly after their breakup, as Cardi told her followers on social media that they had sex that night.
But she quickly made it clear that they were not back together.
“I want to be clear with you because you’re making your assumptions and I just wanted you to hear it firsthand,” Cardi told fans during a press conference Spaces live stream on X (formerly Twitter). “Was I at the club with my little dad yesterday? Yes. Did I get screwed over yesterday? Absolutely, baby.”
Still, Cardi was adamant that night wouldn’t be enough to repair the couple’s relationship after their breakup. “I feel like we’re at the point where we’re at in our relationship — we’ve been together for seven years, we’ve been married for seven years — and I don’t think we’re back together,” shared she with. “The answer to getting back together isn’t a good night at the club and a night of fucking. We gotta work on our shit, we gotta work on our communication, there’s things he needs to work on.” There’s things I need to work on.
Since then, Offset has spoken openly about improving himself in a recent interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show. The rapper did not shy away from the fact that his vices included excessive consumption of lean – a mixture of codeine and soda.
“At the beginning of my career, I am young and initially achieved some success, I drank a lot of lean drink, right? And so my younger brain told me for a minute, ‘This is what this gives me.’ “Sauce to add to the songs,” Offset explained. “But I noticed how it affected my family. I had five kids Me: ‘Hey son, you’re stronger than that. You gotta shake that off.'”
Offset implored others to follow his example and give up vices that hold them back.
“So for all my young people who have a little habit that you need to shake, shake off and become a better person,” he said. “Because it’s not just about you. It’s about the people around you. People who love you.”
The duo has also collaborated creatively, with Offset directed the music video for Cardi’s first solo single in three years, “Like What (Freestyle).” The song and visual were released in March.
