Earlier this morning, BigHit announced in a statement that BTS’ J-Hope will begin military service in South Korea. He will be the second member to do so during the band’s hiatus, Jin’s current tenure.
“The entrance ceremony is for military personnel and their families only,” BigHit’s statement read. Keep it in mind.”
“We also recommend that you not be adversely affected by the purchase of unauthorized tours or product packages that illegally use the artist’s IP. Our company will take necessary action against any attempt to commercially exploit such IP without authorization,” they added road. “We ask for your continued love and support for J-Hope until he returns from military service. Our company will also strive to provide all the support he needs during this time. Thank you.”
Following the company’s official announcement, J-Hope hopped on WeVerse, where he shared a selfie and delivered a message to fans. “Have a great weekend. Don’t worry too much!!! I love you Ami,” he wrote.
The BTS army was surprised by the news, since it was scheduled for April Fools’ Day — but it didn’t look like it was a joke. Keep scrolling for some reactions to J-Hope’s enlistment.
