Multiple sources reported Us weekly Those closest to the 42-year-old Spears are concerned about Soliz’s closeness to the pop star. A source said: “People around Britney are suspicious of Paul’s intentions.”
The source added: “They don’t think he’s a good match for her.”
Soliz, 37, has been in Spears’ orbit since he was hired to do maintenance work on her home in 2022. He was present at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles in the early hours of Thursday, May 2, when firefighters received a call about “an adult female injured.”

Spears was later photographed leaving the hotel barefoot with a pillow and blanket in her arms. A source later told Us weekly that Spears “rolled her ankle as she walked down the stairs.”
Regardless of what happened Thursday evening, a second source said Us that Spears’ friends “want Paul to disappear from the scene.”
“They tried for months to tell her to stop associating with him, but the more they told her to stay away, the more the opposite effect it had,” the source continued. “She doesn’t listen to them.”
Us weekly has reached out to representatives for Spears and Soliz for comment.
The relationship between Spears and Soliz is believed to have developed after Spears filed for divorce Sam Asghari in August. In September, Soliz told exclusively Us weekly that Spears is “a phenomenal woman.”
But Spears’ circle has seen “a noticeable change” in her since Soliz was in the picture, the second source said.
According to the second source, Spears’ change was even more noticeable in the absence of 30-year-old Asghari. Spears said she was “doing pretty well” when she was with her ex-husband. The couple’s divorce was finalized on Thursday.

Soliz, on the other hand, “doesn’t provide that structure and the people around her have noticed that he’s bringing her down,” the source says. “There are concerns that he is more of a yes man, giving in to Britney’s every whim and not saying no…[He’s]not the best influence.”
Before his relationship with Spears, Soliz accumulated a lengthy criminal record, including charges for several offenses including disturbing the peace, endangering children and driving without a license.
In December 2020, Soliz was arrested for possession of a firearm by a felon and illegal possession of ammunition. Soliz ultimately pleaded no contest and was sentenced to two years probation and 90 days in jail.
The second source explained that Spears “actually has a team around her,” but given that her 13-year conservatorship is ending in November 2021, “if she doesn’t want to do something, she can say no.”
Finally, a third source added that Spears is “doing well” after the incident at Chauteau Marmont and that she is “at home recovering and taking care of her ankle.”
For now, the same source confirmed that Spears and Soliz are “still in touch and still seeing each other.”
