The Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Summit and Awards 2024 was held today, May 2nd. The panel discussions ended with a bang for the team Constitution: The Diamond Bazaar came on stage consisting of Fardeen Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Richa Chadha and Taha Shah. They spoke about being a part of the iconic Netflix show and working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Manisha Koirala and Fardeen Khan spoke about the visionary filmmaker’s extreme love for dogs.
Bollywood Hungama Style Icons 2024: Manisha Koirala Reveals Sanjay Leela Bhansali Looked After 30-40 Dogs on Heeramandi Sets; Fardeen Khan said that ADs would send dogs to the sets to calm him down
Manisha Koirala said, “I met him during this 1942: A love story (1994). At that time he wrote his script and directed me Khamoshi (1996). What I’ve noticed over the years is that he’s like that kid Paradise cinema (1988), who fantasizes about cinema. His goal was to make brilliant films. This is what he was born for.”
She continued: “He lives on sets. He goes home just to sleep and make sure his mother is okay (smiles). He is the hardest working person I know. He gets upset when people can’t keep up with his passion. We probably have lives outside the sets. We have other things to do. He does not do it. His only focus is cinema.”
She then revealed: “The other thing I noticed about him is that he is the kindest soul. On the sets of The ConstitutionWe had 30-40 dogs and everyone was looked after so well. I believe only a kind and considerate soul would do that. I have seen people be unkind (to animals) when someone crosses their path. But on his set, every animal was really taken care of.”
At this point, Sonakshi Sinha said, “There was a dog which he named Jaanu. When he would enter the set, Sanjay sir would affectionately shout “Jaanu!” You see a different side of him, which is very sweet!”
Meanwhile, Fardeen Khan confessed, “When things didn’t go as planned and he got frustrated, the ADs would send at least four dogs to the sets (laughs)! That would calm him down immediately. Everything will be fine in 10 minutes.”
Sonakshi Sinha replied, “Sanjay sir will see this clip. Those poor ADs wouldn’t be able to use that trick now!”
