The trailer for the action entertainer Brother was launched in Mumbai in the presence of the star cast and other unit members. As expected, everyone who spoke on stage praised the lead actor Manoj Bajpayee.
Bhaiyya Ji Trailer Launch: Manoj Bajpayee did 95% of the stunts himself; Director Apoorv Singh Karki took inspiration from dubbed Telugu films and an Amitabh Bachchan film
Producer Vinod Bhanushali said, “We discussed Bhaiyya Ji during the production Just one band is enough (2023). Manoj ji expressed his desire to make an action film. Manoj ji himself shot 95% of the action sequences in the film.” As expected, this statement received applause.
Vinod continued, “I remember traveling to Lucknow for the shoot of the film. The action scenes were shot a day before. Manoj ji got out of the car and seemed distressed. I asked him, ‘What happened?’. He answered, ‘Yaar, toot gaya hoon‘ (laughs)!”
He confessed, “We were terrified when Manoj ji was tied with wires and doing action.” He also said, “Hats off to Manoj ji, Apoorv and the entire team. It’s not easy to complete a film on time and get such a high quality product.”
Director Apoorv Singh Karki said, “Manoj ji wanted to do it Brother like an independent cinema. I heard the story and asked him, “Sir, What are you doing? Yes (Story) Please don’t let me down. Isco bigger than life make. Then I called the writer Deepak Kingrani and we tweaked the story. Then we told Manoj ji. He said, ‘It’s so much fun now’. This is what happened to Bhaiyya Ji.”
He added: “I was bored watching certain actors in slow motion! I feel like I have been a Manoj Bajpayee fan for a long time When is it your turn now? and I feel like even people would like to see him differently. This is his 100th film and he has never played a role like this before.”
Apoorv also spoke about his inspiration and said, “I have seen many Telugu films dubbed in Hindi on television. That’s where I got my conviction. I realized, “Sir Toh hero look here. It’s just that no one thought he would be seen in this avatar.”
He continued, “This film also has dialogue baazi like Amitabh Bachchan’s films. The shot of Manoj with a spade is rooted. He doesn’t jump out of the helicopter. The spade is also a rooted, everyday use that we used in the campaign. Manoj ji is rooted and grounded, and the same applies to our actions. Therefore, we believe the audience will like the film.”
According to the realistic portrayal, Manoj Bajpayee also did not have a chiseled body. Apoorv argued, “Nobody in this region has six-pack abs.”
Brother hits theaters on May 24th.
