BET+ Premieres Original Thriller “The Deadly Getaway”

EXCLUSIVE: The new BET+ original film The fatal escape The premiere is scheduled for May 9th. Produced by MegaMind Media, the thriller stars Jason Weaver, Yandy Smith, Jeff Logan and Princess Love.

The fatal escape tells the story of an aspiring couple who travel to a glamorous campsite for a romantic weekend getaway that quickly turns into a nightmare. Jacob (Weaver) plans to propose to his girlfriend of two years, Hope (Smith), but the arrival of her obsessive ex-boyfriend Derrick (Logan) and his girlfriend Jada (Tressa Azarel Smallwood) puts paid to that thing more complicated.

Tensions and jealousy rise as Derrick becomes inappropriate with his flirtations. Things get even worse when the owners of the Away Pod disappear and Hope finds out that Derrick has a dark secret that he’s keeping from them all. Derrick is wanted by the police for a botched robbery and murder, and there’s nothing Derrick won’t do to protect his secret, even if it means killing his precious Hope. Stranded in the woods with a target on their backs, Hope and Jacob become the hunted and must fight their way out of this nightmare if they want to stay alive.

MegaMind Media announced the channel and premiere date for its latest destination thriller, co-produced by Tressa Azarel Smallwood and Yandy Smith, “The Deadly Getaway,” starring Jason Weaver (The Chi), Jeff Logan (DoubleCross), Princess Love ( Love & Hip Hop) and Smith will premiere as a BET+ original film on May 9th.

The feature film is directed by Charles Jones and produced by Melissa Llewellyn-Alston and Kristin Iris Johnson. Donte Lee, Robyn Lyon, Jerry Vines and Jermaine Smith also serve as executive producers for MegaMind Media; with Marvin Neil and Lorisa Bates for BET+. The fatal escape was written by Chad Quinn and Eric Dickens.
